Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2091 Agricultural Equipment Operator such as: Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, skidloaders, telehandlers, transfer augers, or auger wagons. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter, sprayer, fertilizer spreader, or into tenders for planters or sprayer. Spray fertilizer, herbicide, or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus, weeds, and diseases, and to encourage growth & health of soil and plants. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery for cultivating, planting, fertilizing, spraying, watering, harvesting, and storing crops. Operate or tend large, high horsepower farm equipment (much of which is equipped with GPS) used in agricultural production such as tractor, fertilizer spreader, sprayer, planter, combine, grain cart, disc, box scraper and mower to produce and harvest crops such as corn, soybeans and wheat. Adjust, repair and service farm vehicles, machinery, implements, and mechanical equipment. Notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, box scrapers, planters, grain carts, or harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools. Operate towed machines such as planters, seed drills, spreaders or sprayers, and grain carts to plant, fertilize, dust, spray, and move crops. Operate towed machines such as tiling machines, disc, and box scrapers to repair the fields. Install drainage tile and maintain drainage systems in the fields. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Must speak and understand English.
