• Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. • Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. • Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, planters, harvesters, conveyers, and irrigation equipment. • Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. • Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, planters, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. • Operate farm equipment to troubleshoot issues and ensure that it is ready for use. • Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes • Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles. • Operate farming equipment. • Perform safety checks on farm equipment. • Record parts information and inventory of parts used. • Record maintenance being conducted. • Operate a farm service pickup to bring parts to equipment or drive to equipment being tested in the field. • Full time supervision is provided and all tools are provided at no cost. Workers must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and work in extreme temperatures. Lifting objects up to 50 lbs., bending, twisting, and stooping regularly will be required.
