  Job duties include but are not limited to: Preparing fields for planting (tillage, soil conditioning) Planting crops using farm machinery Fertilizing, spraying, irrigating, and monitoring crop growth Weed and pest control Harvesting and hauling crops from the fields Cutting, raking, baling, stacking, and transporting hay. Calve out calves during the calving season Care for calves and nursing mothers Feeding and watering calves on pasture Monitoring health of animals, identifying illnesses or injuries Assist with vaccination and treating sick animals Moving and rotating cattle among pastures Repairing and maintaining fences and water system Equipment maintenance and repair (oil and filter changes, change tires) Basic facility upkeep – maintaining cleanliness and organization of barns, pens and work areas
