We need a seasonal employee to assist with all aspects of planting and harvesting of corn and soybeans including, planting, spraying, spreading, tending, harvesting and tillage. Hauling and spreading manure, planting and caring for cover crops. Assist with raking, baling, hauling, loading and unloading round bales and occasionally square bales. Assist with picking up rocks in fields. Employee will operate tractors, end loaders, mowers, ATVs, and pickup truck and trailers. Employees will also be required to assist with our cow/calf herd during the calving and weaning season. This includes routinely checking on cows that are calving and summoning for help if there are problems. Bringing new calves to the warming pen, when needed, and tubing or bottle feeding with colostrum or milk replacement. Tagging newborn calves and keeping accurate records. During this confinement period employee will need to feed, mineral, and syrup cows. Assist with moving cows and calves from pastures to confinement area. Driving a stock trailer to haul cows, calves or bulls when necessary. Routinely check and repair pasture fence and crossings as needed. Working cows and calves throughout the summer. Assist with maintaining pastures, including spraying for thistles, cutting down trees that fall on fences, and hauling away debris. Assist and maintain cleanliness and overall appearance of the farm. Employer may, at its sole discretion, provide pay increases based on longevity or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
