- Offer description:
Workers will assist with all aspects of vegetable production and livestock operations on a seasonal basis. Duties include pre-season equipment maintenance and repair; preparing fields; planting and transplanting various vegetable crops; hand-weeding and mechanical cultivation; harvesting crops such as potatoes, cabbage, strawberries, and blueberries; and assisting with post-harvest cleaning, sorting, and packing of produce. Employees will also perform tillage and hay baling as needed to support livestock feeding schedules. Additional tasks include operating and maintaining agricultural equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Work is time-sensitive due to crop cycles and weather constraints—e.g., strawberries must be harvested before over ripening in June, blueberries in mid-summer, and potatoes and cabbage before frost in late summer. Livestock assistance may be required, particularly in late summer. The employment is at-will; however, an escalatory disciplinary process will be applied to address worker performance issues or misconduct. This process includes a written warning followed by a termination notice if the issue is not resolved. This does not alter the at-will nature of the employment but provides transparency and fairness in workplace expectations. All duties are physically demanding and require the ability to work long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
