COUTEAU GROVE FARMS runs an equine and cattle operation. The farm staff is structured into two divisions. One being the equine side and the other being the maintenance/cattle side. There is a manager for each division, so COTEAU GROVE FARMS would like to have at least two H2A workers who are bilingual (one for each division, to help the manager with communication with any other foreign labor). A. EQUINE DIVISION: 3 workers needed Job Requirements for each position are listed below: Position 1: February – October a. Bilingual b. Comfortable around horses Position 2. February – October a. Comfortable around horses Position 3. February – October a. Comfortable around horses Job Duties of workers of the Equine Division: - Stall Cleaning - Yearling Sale Preparations - Hand walking young, untrained horses - Grooming - Guiding horses in a well-designed equine pool - Mixing and organizing feed buckets daily basis - Our staff combines into groups that rotate weekend feeding/cleaning shifts so they will be asked to work every other weekend. - The work days typically end at 4pm but the feed crew in rotation will usually stay later to feed closer to sunset especially during the hot summer months leading to an end time later than 4pm for that crew responsible for feeding. - Some night shifts may be required during the foaling months B. MAINTENANCE/CATTLE DIVISION: 3 workers needed Job Requirements for each position are listed below: Position 1. February – October a. Bilingual b. Comfortable around cattle c. Driver’s License d. Tractor, Lawnmower, weed eater, chainsaw, etc. Position 2. April – October a. Comfortable around cattle b. Lawnmower, weed eater, chainsaw, etc. Position 3. April – October a. Comfortable around cattle b. Lawnmower, weed eater, chainsaw, etc. Job Duties of workers of the Maintenance/Cattle Division: - Feed Cattle- put out feed, tubs, hay, and check water - Check and maintain fences and pastures - Record births - Tag calves - Monitor cattle health and alert someone if a vet needs to be called - Keep grass mowed and fence lines clear of weeds and tree limbs
