Farm Equipment Maintenance Worker: Under the direct supervision of a supervisor, engage in agricultural equipment maintenance. Basic repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment on vineyard ranch equipment. Coordinate basic equipment repairs on the vineyard equipment in the field. Make basic preventative maintenance checks and services in the field such as checking oil and gas levels. Will not engage in complex mechanic duties such as calibration or specialty mechanical duties. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery. Inspect farm equipment to determine condition or maintenance needs. Farm Equipment Operator: Drive and control equipment to support vineyard and farm activities. This job will require working in fields such as operating farm equipment, discing, irrigating and harvesting of crops. **Employer reserves the right to medical exams and drug testing post-offer paid by the employer. Drivers will transport passengers in multi-purpose pick-up trucks to and from work each day from housing. The drivers will return to the worksite each day. May be asked to log times in and out for workers. Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order. Complete accident reports when necessary. Follow relevant safety regulations and state laws governing vehicle operation and ensure that passengers follow safety regulations. Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, and fuel consumption. Read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions. Record vehicle routes. Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort. Report any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs. Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones. Test vehicle equipment, such as lights, brakes, horns, or windshield wipers, to ensure proper operation. Must have a valid driver’s license and obtain a medical exam. Driving is approximately 2 hours per day and is less than 50% of the total work hours of the contract, thus less than 50% of the full workdays of the contract. Drivers will be compensated for transportation-related duties, including actual drive time, processing paperwork, trips to the gas station and cleaning the vehicle. Only employees performing driving duties are required to possess a valid driver’s license. The employer will cover the costs associated with workers obtaining a driver’s license, if the employer requires an employee to do so.
