Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; and plant, irrigate, furrow irrigation plowing, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to farm storage and local elevator. Equipment that employees will operate includes but is not limited to tractors with various implements attached, disk harrows, combines, sprayers, grain carts, seed carts, mowers, plows, and ejector finish bucket. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Employees will be participating in irrigation activities including laying pipe, walking length of irrigation pipe to puncture it at set intervals, setting up and operating irrigation equipment, clearing and maintaining irrigation ditches, operating well motors, operating and maintaining pivots, draining excess water from fields, and monitoring fields to check on and maintain adequate water supply to crops; and building, constructing and maintaining levees, installing and removing levy gates and putting in spillways, and installation and maintenance of water control structures and stop logs. Duties also include manual labor such as maintenance of equipment, implements, grain storage and handling facilities, shop, farm grounds, and farm housing; mechanical repairs to farm equipment and implements, grain storage facilities and grain handling equipment; dumping hopper bottom grain trailers at the grain storage facility; and loading hopper bottom grain trailers at grain storage facility for transport to the local elevator. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
