EQUINE CARE AND HEALTH: Provide daily care for foals, yearlings, and adult horses, including feeding, watering, grooming, and monitoring health. Muck stalls, clean pastures, and maintain a clean and safe barn environment. Treat horses with minor injuries and coordinate veterinary care as needed. Maintain accurate records of equine health, treatments, and appointments. Maintain equine medicine, supplement and medical supply inventory. Monitor mare cycles and prepare them for breeding. Coordinate semen shipments in accordance with stallion contracts and mare cycles. TRAINING AND EXERCISE: Train young horses for western riding events and develop individualized training programs. Exercise horses regularly to maintain fitness and readiness for performance. Execute veterinary prescribed rehabilitation programs. Prepare horses for shows. FACILITY AND EQUIPMENT OVERSIGHT: Keep tack and training equipment clean and in good working condition. Cover barn schedule as needed to ensure consistent care and supervision. Supervise daily barn operations and ensure all equine-related tasks are completed efficiently. Monitor pasture quality coordinate pasture rotation, seeding and fertilizing to optimize pasture quality. Execute repairs to pasture fencing, stalls, or coordinate repair work. TEAM COORDINATION AND SUPERVISION: Supervise and train farm hands in proper animal care and handling procedures for foals, yearlings and young horses. Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth execution of care and training routines. TRANSPORTATION AND SCHEDULING: Transport horses as needed for veterinary care, training, events or between facilities. Maintain and manage barn schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and care.
