Stable Attendant Remove all soiled bedding from stalls daily and replace with clean straw; strip and disinfect stalls as directed according to employer protocols, re-bed with clean straw; clean organic material off of stall walls; keep barns stocked with hay and straw from main supply; clean and fill water buckets daily, refill throughout day as needed; clean empty feed tubs, hang on door outside stall; feed hay as directed; keep stall ledges, doors and windows free of debris and straw dust; keep barn aisles swept and clear of hay/straw debris throughout day; keep outside walk areas raked and free of manure throughout day; maintain tack rooms and offices in a neat and orderly fashion; keep tools and equipment clean and in good working order; report damage or problems with equipment or tools to supervisor; remove all garbage from barns daily and place in dumpsters; spray and remove all weeds from around barn areas; mow paddocks and fields as directed; weed eat fence lines, around barns and roadways as directed; repaint paddock fences and barns as directed; repair fences as needed; keep hedges and bushes trimmed; blow all debris from driveways and barn perimeters; assist with loading and unloading horses on and off trailers; groom horses as directed by supervisor; handle and lead horses as directed by supervisor; assist with recovering horses; and assist with other special projects as assigned. General Conditions: If work is available beyond normal workdays, employer may offer, but not require, worker an opportunity to work additional hours. Workers will report to work at designated time and place as directed by assigned employer each day. workers may be requested to ten (10) hours per day depending on conditions in fields and the maturity of the crops. Also, workers may be requested to work on federal holidays and their Sabbath but will not be required. Workers may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available. Down time: Workers should expect occasional periods of little or no work because of weather, crop or other conditions beyond the employer’s control. These periods can occur any time throughout the season. Worker may be required to work in fields when crops are wet with dew / rain and should have suitable clothing for conditions which include light rain and temperatures ranging from 10 degrees to more than 100 degrees. Workers should be able to stand, bend, stoop and work for prolonged periods of time and be physically fit to perform duties as assigned. Care must always be exercised with any use of equipment. Multiple days and shift schedules available: Monday-Friday, Saturday-Wednesday, Thursday-Monday, Tuesday-Saturday, Wednesday-Sunday; 5:30AM-2:00PM, 12:00AM-8:00PM, 7:00AM-3:30PM, 9:30AM-6:00PM.
