Crops/Commodities: worms and corn. Perform farm duties related to worm production and raising by preparing watering tanks and feeding equipment; feeding worms; harvesting live worms. Work on production line: load/unload worms and packaging material onto conveyor belts; sift, sort, weigh worms, etc., remove foreign materials by hand. Fill cups, bins, trays, boxes and other containers with worms. Fill machines with worm casting, using a loader. Follow quality control standards and production procedures. Handle worms carefully to prevent death or injury. Lift, carry, and load/unload products or supplies. Palletize and stack boxes/containers. Shrink wrap pallets. Use power equipment including but not limited to forklifts, conveyor belts, shrink wrap tools/machines, etc. Operate equipment safely, with or without direction. Assist with basic daily maintenance on equipment. Clean workstations and equipment before/after daily use. Maintain clean working environment. Must be able to operate power equipment including but not limited to tractors, planters, mowers, plows, sprayers, cultivators, power shears, chain saws, high lifts, forklifts, skid loaders. Must be able to operate agricultural equipment safely with or without direction. May assist with harvesting corn using agricultural equipment. Mow, cut, and weed fields using hand tools including but not limited to hoes, shovels, shears, clippers, loppers, and saws. Use and operate tools, equipment, and instruments safely, with or without direction. Repair and maintain by proper use and basic maintenance farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Repair farm buildings and structures on farm property. Repair fences. Physical requirements and considerations: Bending, stooping and kneeling required. Work is done in the warehouse for long periods of time. Workers may assist in handling products weighing up to 60 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet. Workers must work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking. Work may be required outdoors during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Temperatures outdoors during working hours can range from 10 to over 100 degrees F. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers, which are not severe enough to stop outdoor operations. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honeybees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a worker's ability to perform the job. Workers should be able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodation. Prohibitions: Use, possession, transfer, offer, sale or manufacture of marijuana and/or controlled substances strictly prohibited. All work sites and Housing barracks are alcohol and drug free workplaces. Employees must not report for work, enter the employers' property or perform work while under the influence of or having used alcohol, marijuana illegal controlled substances, or any other substance that may in any way adversely affect alertness, coordination, reaction time or safety. Workers may not possess alcohol at company-provided housing. Employer requires that all newly hired employees take and pass an employer-paid drug test before starting work. Drug test not required for prospective applicants prior to hiring decision. All testing is conducted uniformly after an initial job offer has been extended and accepted by the new hire. Workers testing positive will be immediately terminated and paid for all hours worked between the first date of employment and the date of termination, if any. In the case of a non-local or foreign worker who is terminated for failure to pass a drug test, the employer will arrange least-cost transportation to the worker's place of recruitment, at the worker's expense. The employer will also test at random, upon reasonable suspicion of use, and after a worker has an accident at work.
