D & K Harvesting attests and confirms that no workers will be charged any fee to obtain a job with the company. The job requires a minimum of two months of experience in tasks associated with farm experience. In order to perform this kind of work must be able to work outside for at least six-6 hours a day in all kinds of weather and be in possession of the requisite strength and endurance, working quickly and skillfully with their hands. General Laborer- Outdoor work is required when plants are wet, or during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity, and extreme (hot) temperatures. Temperatures in fields during working hours may vary. Workers may be required to work during inclement weather. Sensitivity to environmental allergens, honeybees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a worker's ability to perform the job. Work is done outdoors for long periods of time and requires prolonged periods of standing and/or walking, repetitive movements, and frequent bending and/or stooping. Workers must be able to handle, lift and carry heavy or bulky objects (product, containers), in accordance with the specified lifting requirements. Responsible for shifting plants to larger containers. Operate equipment (tractor and forklift) according to safe operating guidelines. Communicate with team members and other departments. Work efficiently. Teamwork environment. Maintain equipment to ensure it is always in safe working order. Use forks on the tow motor to open bags of peat moss. Use front end loader to transfer soil into mixer. Work with bags of fertilizer. Stage pots on canning machine for sizes needed. Unload plants from liner prep wagons to canning machine. Unload finished potted plants from conveyor on canning machine to wagons. Clean up work area at the end of each workday. Any related job duty assigned by your supervisor. Set Down spacing Laborer: Operate equipment (tractor and forklift) according to safe work guidelines. Keep all equipment, tools, and supplies clean and in good working order. Communicate with team members and other departments. Work efficiently. Teamwork environment. Maintain equipment to ensure it is always in safe working order. Bring plants from potting barn to designated field location. Set down plants according to need (pot tight or spaced). Move pot tight plant material to designated spacing area and set down according to spacing requirements. Document all plants that are set down per day (variety, location, size). Label plants until permanent crop stakes are applied. Maintain a steady workflow to ensure that the canning crew is never out of wagons. Packing/trumping finished plants once they are set down in the field. Clean up. Shipping: Responsible for stacking/loading plants onto trucks for delivery. Maintain equipment (tractor, wagon, conveyor) to ensure it is in safe working condition. Operate equipment according to safe operating guidelines. Build/assemble racking (wood/metal) for shipping purposes. Load wagon with plants for unloading into the semi-truck. Water plants, if necessary. Push non loaded conveyor into the semi-truck. Unload pots from the conveyor to the semi-truck. Apply tags, stickers to plants/pots. Any related job duty assigned by your supervisor.
