Workers will be responsible for performing general maintenance around the farm. This will include fence mending, mowing, and weeding eating. Workers will maintain levees with movers and weed eaters. Maintain Equipment: Clean, inspect, and repair tanks, pumps, filters, and other related systems. Workers will perform general maintenance on equipment and aerators. Monitor and perform routine maintenance and repair on equipment, systems, boats, tractors, automotive vehicles, aerators. Operate pumps and other equipment. Use oxygenation equipment: Operate water oxygenation systems, paddle wheel aerators, according to requirements. Workers will check oxygen levels in fishponds using oxygen meters. Carry out maintenance of aquaculture equipment: Maintain aquaculture equipment and identify equipment needs. Assisting repairing nets, long-lines and cages. Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed. After instruction in the safety and operation, workers will operate tractors and other farm equipment during daily operations. Make minor repairs to hatchery equipment, repair and paint buildings and maintain grounds. Perform repairs to drains, levees, and wells and road grading work. If electric power fails there can be a total loss of the hatchery inventory in less than 30 minutes. Stand-by generators run by propane or diesel are necessary insurance against power failure. Workers should know how to start generators and who to contact in an emergency.
