Perform the following duties as the First-Line Ag Supervisor at the farm: Directly oversee and coordinate agricultural activities for future seasonal agricultural ginseng workers. Plan for and create training materials for proper techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards. Maintain records related to production, employee attendance, and equipment maintenance. Prepare compliance and safety materials. Draft hiring, scheduling, and evaluations for 2026 farm workers. Confer with managers to evaluate weather or soil conditions, to develop plans or procedures, or to discuss issues such as changes in fertilizers, herbicides, or cultivating techniques. Analyze records related to production, employee attendance, and equipment maintenance. Perform supervisory and management functions, such as accounting, marketing, and personnel work. Monitor financial activities. Inspect facilities to determine maintenance needs. Confer with managers to determine production requirements, conditions of equipment and supplies, and work schedules. Maintain inventories of materials, equipment, or products. Calculate or monitor budgets for maintenance or development of collections, grounds, or infrastructure. Analyze records to identify and solve problems, improve work methods, and ensure compliance with safety, company, and government regulations. Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work. Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data pertaining to the ginseng operation. Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form pertaining to the ginseng operation. Developing, designing, or creating new ginseng applications, ideas, relationships, and systems. May require driving to town to pick up supplies and materials. Walk the fields and repair any damage to tarps, cabling, and posts. Analyze crop plans to determine the optimal workforce size and skill mix.
