AEWR; US Workers: 17.95; H2A Workers: 17.95. Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse including: Record information about crops such as pesticide use, yields, or costs; Direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting of crops such as potatoes, corn; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer, and drive to market or storage facilities; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Regulate conditions; Feel plants' leaves and note their coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease; Disinfect and clean bins for incoming potato seed; Receive seed and place in bins at 39 degrees F; Warm seed to 50 degrees F; Cut seed into piece size; Treat and heal seed; Move seed to the field for planting; Maintain inventory; Trap and destroy pests such as moles, gophers, and mice; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Must speak and understand English. Approximate staggered entry: 25 workers to begin Jan 10; 25 workers to begin March 1; 25 workers to begin April 27; remaining 15 workers to begin July 10.
