- Offer description:
Assist in daily operations of a small-scale beef cattle ranch during calving (Jan–Mar) and breeding (Apr) seasons. Duties include operating tractors, skid steers, and other machinery for feeding livestock, bedding, snow removal, and hauling grain. Perform cattle husbandry, including calving assistance, feeding, detecting heats, and preparing cattle for artificial insemination. Support cattle movement and pen management. Conduct facility maintenance, fencing, and other related ranch tasks. Workers must rotate shifts to monitor cattle around the clock during peak seasons. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and have a valid Class D driver’s license. Work is physically demanding and conducted in extreme weather conditions. Employment is at-will; however, before termination, the employer generally follows an escalatory disciplinary process: first issuing a written warning and, if issues persist, a final termination notice. This process ensures fairness and transparency but does not alter the at will nature of employment. Skill Level I – Entry Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level I – Entry Level, indicating that the job requires limited experience and routine supervision consistent with entry-level duties. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday
