Equipment operations including driving trucks and tractors, perform a variety of crop raising duties as directed on general farm such as plowing, harrowing, fertilizing and cultivating soil; spraying and harvesting crops using a variety of tractor drawn machinery; farm implement and mechanical equipment repair, operation and routine maintenance which consists of oil changes, greasing, cleaning, tires and field repairs; and cow/calf operations including calving cows, monitoring health of cattle, fencing, branding, vaccination and riding the pastures checking calves and cows. Load and unload feed, grain and hay. Spray cattle with insecticide, weed control on grazing areas, control predators, check and maintain livestock. Clear brush with hand tools, machine service and repair. Check maintain and repair water lines, tanks, windmills, pumps. Tend to farm & ranch animals, plant & harvest crops, repair farm structures & fences, clean & maintain animal housing areas & grounds. Perform regular scheduled maint. & simple repairs on related equip, vehicles & ATV/UTVs. Facility maint. (build/repair fences, barns, sheds, water troughs, tanks, ponds, working pens, traps) Must have basic working ability with ranch implements and able to perform tasks capably and efficiently without supervision. Also be able to learn how to work with show cattle and their daily care. Exposure to extreme temp, repetitive movements, extensive pushing, pulling walking and frequent stooping Involves lifting and carrying of 50 lbs frequently The hours listed represent the normal work schedule. Due to the nature of the duties and weather it is the prevailing practice to work substantially more, less or different hours than those listed, sometimes for extended periods of time. When the number of hours for a week exceeds the number listed then, the worker may be offered, but not required, to work more hours. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on the weekend, a worker’s Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors.
