- Offer description:
The Agricultural Maintenance Worker and Driver is responsible for performing general farm maintenance, including inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing farm equipment, machinery, and vehicles. The role involves routine preventative maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, filter changes, and part replacements. In addition, the worker will maintain farm structures, including barns, silos, storage bins, and fencing, and monitor heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems in feed storage or livestock areas. Daily responsibilities also include general farm upkeep, such as clearing debris from farm paths, maintaining livestock equipment, and assisting with pest control. The position requires physical labor and the use of various tools like grease guns, shovels, brooms, pressure washers, and air compressors. The worker will also inspect, service, and repair feed milling equipment (e.g., hammer mills, pellet mills, mixers, conveyors, and grain elevators), replace worn parts like bearings, belts, and motors, and monitor grain handling systems, including augers and elevators. Additionally, the worker may prepare fields for planting by servicing tillage and planting equipment. The Agricultural Maintenance Worker and Driver will also be required to safely operate trucks (Peterbilt - 389, or Western Star - 4900SA) to transport feed, grain, equipment, materials, or livestock as needed. Inspect vehicles before transport to ensure they are clean, fueled, and in safe working condition. Maintain required logbooks, inspection reports, and other DOT compliance records.
