- Offer description:
The position requires the safe and efficient handling of agricultural commodities throughout all stages of holding and shipment. Primary duties include accurately preparing and documenting scale tickets and inspecting incoming loads to ensure compliance with established standards for moisture content and grade quality. Once accepted, commodities must be transferred to appropriate holding systems, ensuring even distribution and minimizing product loss. The operator is also responsible for outbound shipments, which involves transferring commodities from holding units to truck loading bins and coordinating the loading process for timely and accurate transportation. Manual shoveling may be necessary in areas where automated equipment cannot fully remove material, particularly during facility clean-outs or maintenance procedures. Routine housekeeping duties are required to maintain clean, safe, and compliant work areas across loading zones and other facility spaces. The operator must also be able to safely drive farm trucks to move commodities between on-site locations, as well as operate small tractors and other equipment within the facility yard. Additional responsibilities include performing basic maintenance on material-handling equipment, executing minor mechanical repairs when needed, and ensuring all machinery remains in safe operating condition. This role also involves safely climbing vertical ladders and accessing elevated equipment or holding areas to perform inspections or maintenance as required for continued facility operations. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
