Job requires the operation of tractors with various implements, trucks, backhoes, excavators, and other large farm equipment to till soil and prepare land and plant, cultivate, irrigate, spray, harvest, and transport crops. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Job will also require working with irrigation piping and motors; laying irrigation pipe in fields; puncturing irrigation piping at set intervals; maintaining adequate water levels in fields; servicing engines and equipment; washing equipment; building, constructing and maintaining levees, installing and removing levy gates and putting in spillways; draining excess water from fields; using hand tools in the fields to repair equipment and remove weeds and plants; hauling grain from fields to grain bins; loading and unloading grain into trucks while keeping grain level; operating augers and other grain moving equipment around the grain bin facility; monitoring moisture levels of grain stored in bins to ensure compliance with moisture and grade standards; leveling grain with shovels; sweeping grain; ensuring that operational areas are organized and well maintained; performing housekeeping duties in farm shop and work areas. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions.
