Workers will be expected to perform the following: harvest squash, zucchini, okra, jalapenos and bell peppers, as well as complete assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Workers may be expected to participate in field picking and packing. Furthermore, workers will be required to pick by hand according to the criteria both described demonstrated by managers. These criteria include things such as size, color, and the maturity of the squash, zucchini, okra, jalapenos and bell peppers. Moreover, workers may also be expected to participate in field packing with duties including the following: grading and hand sorting, visual inspections, removal of debris, waste, and other foreign materials as the squash, zucchini, okra, jalapenos and bell peppers are sorted and packed by size. Workers may be asked to drive farm equipment in the field, shovel, haul, spread manure, dig holes, ditches and trenches, stake rows or tie off plants. Continuing, workers may also be asked to manually plant, cultivate, harvest, count, load, and unload vegetables (squash, zucchini, okra, jalapenos and bell peppers). Hand tools the workers may use are shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives. Also, workers may be asked to repair fences, farm buildings, and land improvement projects as well as clean farm equipment, as needed. Other tasks workers may perform are irrigation duties such as watering squash, zucchini, okra, green beans, jalapenos, and bell pepper fields, moving and weed whacking pivots and wells, checking well dripper oil, drops and sprinklers for leaks, trimming headland tree limbs, and retrieving fertilizer tanks. This also includes cleaning and rinsing fertigation tanks between rounds, as well as assisting in the changing of draining of gearboxes, and flat tires on pivots. May drive workers to/from housing to fields and to grocery store once a week.
