Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, and storage of crops, Grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage. Operate and monitor grain conditioning equipment to ensure efficient and safe conditioning of grain to meet quality standards. Load hoppers to feed machines with products, using forklifts, suction gates, shovels, pitchforks and other equipment. Weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information. Place products in containers according to grade. Weigh products or estimate their weight, visually or by feel. Discard inferior or defective products or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing. Guide products to regulate flow through machines, and to discard diseased or rotten products. monitor and report grain moisture and grades. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including cleaning conditioning equipment, storage areas, and surrounding facilities. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the team. Load semi-trucks with hopper bottom trailers without over or underfilling trailers; drive and deliver grain to market using semi-trucks. Operate fans and other equipment to condition grain and control moisture levels. Assist in the management and preservation of wildlife habitat on the farm during the migration of waterfowl and deer such as: maintaining wire; removing debris; servicing wetlands; controlling weed pressure; inspect and record wildlife population; maintain adequate levels in ponds and wetland reserve program; Perform manual labor necessary to develop, maintain, or protect areas such as forested areas, woodlands, wetlands Must be able to speak and understand English.
