  Workers will work with vegetable crops, including onions. Workers must be able to: prepare field for irrigation by sprinkler or drip delivery system; operate irrigation systems and farm equipment; apply pesticides and fertilizers; assist with seeding and cultivation activities; weed and hoe crops (weeding will be by hoe, not hand, with a long-handled hoe); hand harvest onions; clip roots and/or tops to specifications; place the harvested product in buckets and transfer product to field bins; move buckets, bins, sacks, and other accompanying items; remove drip tape; assist with other harvesting activities; and perform any and all other tasks and duties under SOC Code 45-2092. Related duties may be assigned. Work is performed outdoors in highly varied weather conditions. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling is required. Highly repetitive motions to reach crops at ground level and place the crops in appropriate containers are required. Being on one’s feet for long periods of time is required. Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry weight up to 50 pounds is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate hand tools, farm equipment, and crops is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required.
