- Offer description:
Job requires the application, handling, and management of manure as part of the company’s nutrient management program. Employees are responsible for loading and applying manure to agricultural fields at specific rates to ensure proper fertilization while minimizing environmental impact. This includes handling slurry manure using frac tanks, pumps, large capacity spreaders, and other manure spreading equipment to ensure safety and compliance prior to transport and application. Employees may also manage and oversee manure stockpiles, ensuring proper storage and monitoring for potential runoff or contamination. Accurate load and time sheets must be completed in a timely manner to support record keeping. The role requires preparing, maintaining, cleaning, servicing and operating equipment used for manure handling and application. Routine inspections and preventative maintenance of machinery are expected to ensure operational readiness, safety and efficiency. Basic troubleshooting and mechanical repair assistance may be required to keep equipment functioning properly. During winter months or in periods of snow accumulation, the position may include snow removal responsibilities. This involves operating snow removal equipment to clear snow from driveways, access roads, and equipment pathways. Sand or salt may be applied to maintain safe walking and driving conditions around livestock areas and work zones. Timely snow removal is essential to prevent disruption in daily operations, including feeding and equipment access.
