Workers will perform duties associated with planting, cultivating and harvesting sod/turf grass. Aid in soil preparation, clear fields, sod, sow grass seed, plant plugs, cut, roll, stack, weed, hoe, propagate, water, fertilize, spray, monitor trim, load, transport and discard sod, bag certified grass seed, load/unload pallets, aide in both center pivot and traveling gun irrigation systems, diesel and electric irrigation pumps. Install sod. Operate farm equipment, drive field truck in and around farm. Planting and managing many different farm crops in rotation with sod crops i.e. wheat, oats all vegetable crops, cotton, corn, soybeans, seed crops, Klein, buffle grass and hay production for dry seasons. Trimming trees and shrubs for wind breaks, cleaning shops and servicing all in house equipment. Work on irrigation equipment and monitor irrigation systems. Move hay to barns and trucks to prepare to feed cattle during cold and dry times. Maintenance on fences to keep unwanted wildlife and livestock from invading crops. Exposure to extreme temp, repetitive movements, extensive pushing, pulling walking and frequent stooping The hours listed represent the normal work schedule. Due to the nature of the duties and weather it is the prevailing practice to work substantially more, less or different hours than those listed, sometimes for extended periods of time. When the number of hours for a week exceeds the number listed then, the worker may be offered, but not required, to work more hours. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on the weekend, a worker’s Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time.
