Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time: Shuttle Driver: Shuttle Bus Driver: Pick up workers at living quarters and transport workers to work site. Twenty-five percent of the workers responsibilities will consist of transporting workers using a specified route on specific schedules depending upon production needs. The role of the Shuttle Bus Driver will require adherence to DOT safety regulations, safe vehicle maintenance, as well as several farm responsibilities while not transporting workers during work shift. Shuttle Bus Driver are required to take workers once a week to the bank, grocery store, and to the laundromat. Five percent of each workers responsibilities may be comprised of inspecting a vehicle, checking gas, oil, and water levels. Reporting and coordinating minor repairs to vehicles such as changing tires and following all maintenance scheduled requirements. Fifteen percent of the workers time encompass completing daily logs to document all passengers, mileage driven, vehicle inspections, use of gas cards, GPS and vehicle as specified by program, as well as reporting all safety incidents. Other duties may include field walking, and monitoring task. Maintain water coolers with ice and water. General Specifications and Physical Requirements of the Job: The majority of the workday is spent on one’s feet, constantly in movement, and outdoors. Workers are rarely in one place for any period of time. It is estimated that 20% of the time will be spent field packing, 10% growing and maintaining, and 70% harvesting the products. All of the packing is done on in the field, as indicated as secondary agriculture under the FLSA definition of agriculture. Workers must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, bend (from the waist), push, pull, reach, lift and carry items weighing in range from 5 to 35 pounds during the course of performing all required job specifications. All work is performed in outdoor agricultural fields and involves exposure to sun, wind, rain, soil, mud, dust, heat, cold and other natural elements. Workers must be able to withstand working in the direct sunlight, and conditions ranging from hot and humid weather, moderate rain and cold while performing their required job duties. Workers should come prepared wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the environmental and working conditions described.
