Shuttle Drivers/Chauffeurs -5 temporary positions; approximately 4 months; job to begin 9/15/2025 through 1/15/2026.Operate vehicles to transport H-2A workers from various housing sites or designated pickup locations and bring them to the work site, an essential part of Alma Plantation, LLC’s agricultural process in connection with the harvesting of a perishable crop, sugarcane. Drivers must maintain a United States Class A or B CDL with a passenger endorsement or a driver's license reciprocally recognized by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act (FMCSA) as having the same qualifications as a US Class A CDL. Transport workers from employer-provided housing sites to designated drop-off locations; at the end of the day transport workers from designated pickup locations back to housing sites. The morning pickup points are at approved employer-provided housing. The morning drop-off point is the Ag Truck parking area.. At the end of the workday, the centralized pickup point is the Ag Truck parking area.Transport workers to make scheduled or planned trips to the bank, grocery store, laundromat, bus station, airport, Social Security office, or for medical appointments. Responsible for keeping the assigned vehicles clean and maintained. Must check oil, water, and fuel levels in vehicle daily. The vehicles used for the above-described transportation are three (3) passenger vans owned and insured by Alma Plantation, LLC. These include a 2013 Ford E-350 Econoline with a 15-seat capacity, a 2009 Ford E-150 Econoline with an 8-seat capacity, and a 2002 Ford E-350 Econoline with a 12-seat capacity. (Total capacity of 35 passenger van seats). Workers will be orientated and instructed on all aspects of safety. Failure to obey safety requirements may result in termination. They will also assist with simple daily vehicle maintenance checks (oil, water, tires, and fuel checks), filling water jugs with drinking water for the workers and ensuring sanitation measures are maintained throughout the day, such as clean drinking water, bathrooms and handwashing facilities available to workers.Additional duties may include general farm labor, washing and servicing Ag Trucks and moving Ag Trucks not on road. Work will be done under extreme weather conditions such as heat, direct sunlight, cold weather, possible rain, and wind. $14.83 per hour. 40 hrs a week. 8 hour shifts. Must be willing to work 7 days a week rotating shifts, 7AM-3PM, 3PM TO 11PM, 11PM TO 7AM.. As with all agricultural work, it is influenced by the weather. OT may vary, but is not guaranteed; three (3) months of experience in the job offered is required. Job involves extensive sitting, repetitive movements, and working outside in inclement weather. Once hired, workers may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination. All work tools, supplies, and equipment will be provided at no charge or deposit charge. Housing and transportation will be provided to workers who cannot reasonably return to their permanent residence at the end of the work day; transportation and subsistence expenses to the work site will be provided by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract, or earlier, if appropriate; employer guarantees to offer three fourths (3/4) of the total work hours listed in the contract. Alma Plantation, LLC will provide employment to any qualified, eligible U.S. workers who apply to the employer until 50 percent of the period of the work contract has elapsed, which is November 15, 2025.
