Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. The employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker. Cotton Seed Production-workers will perform tasks in fuzzy seed, delinting, conditioning, treating, and packaging. Tasks include operating equipment such as skid steers, to pick up fuzzy seed and place on moving floor that feeds conveyors, and yard dogs, for receiving silage from operations. Cleaning work area to maintain a safe working environment. Cleaning various equipment in the process using necessary tools such as brooms and air wands to prevent seed contamination. Pull various seed samples for quality checks such as temperature and weight, then update the shift lead with the information. Perform general housekeeping in all areas such as sweeping and mopping. All tasks should be performed following safety and quality policies. Three months experience in this type of work is required. The type of work involves working conditions that require tremendous stamina and a high level of physical activity in cold or extremely hot conditions in direct sunlight and in adverse weather such as rain or snow. Due to the type of physical conditioning needed, there is a probationary period of five days beginning with the first day of employment to show possession of the required endurance to perform this type of work. Employees may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available. Workers should expect little to no work because of weather, crop, or conditions beyond the employer?s control. These periods can occur any time throughout the season.
