Feeding, grazing, caring for livestock, including cattle or horses, as needed. Break and train horses. Herd and move cattle from pens, pasture to pasture, scatter bulls, gather, castrate, brand, earmark, administer medications, fertility test, inspect for noxious plants, predatory animals, and weather protection for herd. Cut and clear brush, work on horseback and/or on foot. As needed, supplemental feeding of livestock with tractor or pickup. Maintenance of wildlife feeders. Must be able to ride and handle horses and work cattle from horseback. Must have basic working ability with ranch implements and able to work without supervision. Work is performed on the range for more than 50% of the workdays in the contract period. Exposure to extreme temp, repetitive movements, extensive pushing, pulling walking and frequent stooping Involves lifting and carrying of 40 lbs frequently The hours listed represent the normal work schedule. Due to the nature of the duties and weather it is the prevailing practice to work substantially more, less or different hours than those listed, sometimes for extended periods of time. When the number of hours for a week exceeds the number listed then, the worker may be offered, but not required, to work more hours. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on the weekend, a worker’s Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time. Employer will furnish at no cost, all tools including but not limited to: rope, tack, gloves, veterinary equipment, hand tools, protective gear, bedding etc. as well as effective electronic means of communication (cell phone and 2 way radio) for work and emergency purposes. If worker is in an area where electronic communication will not work, the employer or person designated by employer will contact the worker in regular pre-scheduled visits twice daily.
