- Offer description:
Workers will perform aquaculture duties on approximately 130 acres of company-leased water parcels designated for the cultivation of oysters, shrimp, and fish (see attached lease documentation). Daily tasks include planting hundreds of oyster seeds, juvenile shrimp, and young fish into specially designed cages, net pens, or aquatic enclosures. These enclosures are anchored throughout the leased water parcels and accessed by boat. Workers will routinely inspect and repair damaged cages, nets, or related equipment, particularly those affected by storms, hurricanes, or aquatic predators such as snails or fish species that pose a risk to the health and containment of aquaculture stock. During the growing period, workers must handle all aquatic species with care to avoid injury, monitor their development, and measure growth rates. Inspections of shells, fins, and body surfaces are performed to detect signs of disease, fungus, or environmental stress. Early detection and treatment are critical to maintaining healthy aquatic stock. To prevent overcrowding and promote optimal growth, workers will flip or rotate oyster cages weekly and ensure proper spacing of shrimp and fish containment systems. Please see Addendum C
