Workers will operate a variety of farm equipment to support the planting, cultivation, and harvesting of winter crops. This includes operating tractors and related machinery to till soil, fertilize, plant, and cultivate crops. Workers will also be responsible for stacking and transporting hay to and from various farm locations. Additional duties include maintaining and repairing farm infrastructure such as feed bunks, fences, corrals, water structures, and driveways. Workers will assist with the operation and maintenance of manure systems, including moving hoses, operating pumps, spreading manure, and performing snow removal as needed. They will also operate equipment used in dairy-related operations, such as skid loaders, pay loaders, manure trucks, suck trucks, feeding equipment, and box scrapers. General maintenance duties include operating and maintaining landscaping equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, weed sprayers, and trailers. Workers will use small hand-held tools including paint sprayers, grinders, drills, shovels, rakes, knives, and clippers to perform tasks related to facility upkeep. Responsibilities will also include cleaning and organizing workspaces, replacing lighting in facilities, repairing concrete, and assisting in the construction of small wooden structures. Effective 1/1/25, overtime must be paid after 48 hours worked per week, or 56 hours worked per week for up to 22 "peak weeks" for highly seasonal employers.
