Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. General Conditions: On the first workday, the employer will provide specific instructions and/or training (up to 6 hours) in the proper way to perform the crop activity. Thereafter, the worker will be expected to perform the task with diligence as instructed. By the beginning of the second working day (6 hours of work completed), workers will be expected to keep up with fellow workers, not to adversely affect the productivity of the other workers, and to perform the work in a manner specified by the employer and described herein. After the one-day (6 hour) training and acclimation period, workers who fail to meet this standard and/or fail to perform the work in the manner specified may be terminated. Green Corn Receiving Operator: Operate hydraulic walking floor to convey corn evenly from truck to receiving belt. Pull and perform green corn samples. Clean equipment and work area between products. Husking Machine Operator: Operate and adjust equipment to direct the flow or green corn and operation of discard off-type or rouge ears, discard moldy, diseased, or immature ears. Clean equipment and work area between products. Sorter: Sort ears of corn by hand from moving belt. Send to rerun conveyed unhusked ears discard off-type or rouge ears, discard moldy, diseased, or immature ears. Clean equipment and work area between products. Dryer Fill Operator: Operate equipment to direct the flow of sorted corn to dyer bins. Fill dryer bins to even fill depth. Clean equipment and work areas once bins are empty. Dryer Bin Unloader: Direct the flow of corn out of bins onto conveying belts to perform shelling operations. Clean dryer bins, conveyors, and work areas once bins are empty. Sheller Operator: Monitor and make adjustments to sheller operation. Clean equipment, work area, and conveyors between product runs. Cleaner Operator: Monitor and make adjustments to cleaner operation. Clean equipment, work area, and conveyors between product runs. Husking Machine Maintenance: Upon completion of harvest season, perform repair and maintenance activities to husking machines including dis-assembly, re-rolling and re-assembly as well as any other necessary repairs and service. Light industrial Maintenance: Perform light industrial maintenance activities including painting, cleaning, and other maintenance activities. Sanitation Requirements: For food and general safety purposes, all workers will be required and expected to always follow common sanitary practices. This is particularly critical when working in agricultural crops for human consumption. Employees are required to cleanse their hands by washing them thoroughly with soap and water after using the bathroom and before entering the fields. All workers must report all injuries and illnesses to their employer. As well any communicable diseases such as but not limited to diarrhea, or any other infectious disease or illness. Workers shall report immediately any cuts or abrasions that cause open bleeding. No tobacco, food, gum, candy, drink (other than water) or medication is allowed while working in the field. No jewelry, watches, or fingernails longer than 1/8" are allowed. No open toe shoes or sandals are permitted. Glass bottles, drinking glasses, or any item made from glass are prohibited in the field. Improper hygiene will not be tolerated. Throw the used bathroom tissue into the toilet every time, then flush the toilet. Keep the restrooms, rest areas and portable facilities in the field clean for others.
