Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of seed potatoes, potatoes, corn, dry edible beans, wheat, and alfalfa/hay. The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period, however, will be related to agricultural equipment operation. Agricultural Equipment Operation duties will include the following: drive, load/unload Ag exempt, non CDL semi/10-wheel trucks and Ag exempt, non CDL 2 or 3 axle trucks on, or between, farm worksites to transport crops to onsite facilities; backup trucks in tight maneuvering conditions; climb in and out of tall trucks and various truck beds and/or trailers several times a day; maintain, drive, attach and operate farm implements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, fertilize and harvest crops; operate tractors/trucks to load/unload product; haul product to/from cellars or storage to various fields located on the farm; communicate by use of hand signals for start, stop, speed up or slow down, etc.; place/remove truck tarps; secure load; inspect load to ensure safety and security; keep daily log of products hauled and report daily; transport products in a timely manner; keep trucks in working order; perform small repairs and conduct daily maintenance duties; report malfunctions; operate skid steers/forklifts to move seed potatoes/storage crates in and out of warehouses; operate Spudnik potato handling equipment, including but not limited to, pilers, sorters and conveyors; workers possessing the proper licensure may be asked to transport other farm workers. Other duties as assigned may include the following: remove foreign matter, undesirable and excess growth from crops or farm grounds; perform general cleanup of farm areas and maintain a clean rock/weed free work area around all farming locations; cleanup/remove all equipment chains; wash/prepare harvest equipment for winter storage; comply with GAP policies and regulations.
