  Hop Top Cutter Operator - Operates specialized equipment. At 15 feet above ground level engages sickle blades to cut the top of the strings and hop bines from the trellis. Where the bines then fall into a truck that is pushed but the top cutter in the field. When truck is full of bines the top cutter will compress the load in the truck for safe driving to the picker. Hop Baler - Operates the hydraulic baler. Loose hop cones are feed into a hopper and hydraulic machine compresses them into a 200lb bale. Plastic burlap is then sewn to wrap the bale with a hand held electric sewing machine. Once released from the machine the ends of the burlap are folded and hand sewed with a needle and thread. The 200lb bale is then probed for moisture content and recorded. Also is recoded for weight Then the bale is moved to the staging area with a hand truck. See Addendum C, Job Duties - Cont.
