This application is being filed pursuant to the regulations at 20 CFR 655.301 - 655.304 for Custom Combining. We operate a custom harvesting business where we custom harvest corn, coastal, wheat, sorghum and various grasses. Employees will need to drive tractors for plowing, planting and harvesting crops. Employees will need to operate self-propelled custom harvesting machines to harvest/cut corn, coastal, wheat, sorghum and various grasses. Employees will need to adjust speed cutter, blowers and conveyors and height of cutting head, using hand tools. Changes cutting head as appropriate for crop. Employees may also complete duties like plowing, land leveling, disking, cultivating, planting, spreading fertilizer, spraying crops, hauling and spreading manure on farm fields and hauling hay and machinery. They will drive heavy trucks to transport product to elevator or storage area and drive transporter truck to haul harvesting machines between work sites. May be required to assist with the weighing of trucks and documenting data as required. During inclement weather, employees may be required to complete routine chores around the shop and work-site locations. Employees will be required to service machinery and complete in field repairs on equipment. Employer may pay performance-based incentive bonuses at the end of the contract period at the employer's discretion. Employer will provide workers with an effective means of communication (including two-way radios and CB radios) at no cost, ensuring access to individuals capable of responding to workers' needs in case of an emergency. Applicants must be available for the entire contract period. Workers hired after the contract start date must be prepared to begin work at the employer’s current location and remain available for the duration of the work itinerary.
