Crops: Green/Red Romaine, Green/Red Oak, Green/Red Leaf, Mizuna, Arugula, Green/Red Chard, Tatsoi, Spinach, Kale, Culinary Herbs, Microgreens. • GENERAL SUMMARY: The Class A Driver position represents Duncan Family Farms to and ensures compost deliveries made with DFF vehicles arrive safely and efficiently to their destination. The Class A Driver is self-motivated, personable, detailed oriented and responsible, operates with a current CDL, has knowledge of all DOT rules and regulations, has experience in equipment hauling, and operates with a strong work ethic. Driver will operate heavy equipment in compost production when not hauling. Responsibilities • Adhering to all Company Employee and Food Safety Requirements. • Conducting thorough pre-trip safety checks • Maintaining accurate trips logs and related reports • Securing loads to ensure product integrity upon delivery • Efficiently navigating assigned delivery routes • Unloading and appropriately loading compost & other fertilizer amendments • Informing his/her supervisor of route delays and outstanding delivery situations • Obtaining necessary delivery receipts • Organizing and securing all route related paperwork • Operating front end loader • Cultivating respectful working relationships with all customer personnel Sanitation Requirements: For food and general personal safety purposes, all workers will be required and expected to follow common sanitary practices at all times. This is particularly critical when hand harvesting crops for human consumption. Employees are required to cleanse their hands by washing them thoroughly with soap and water after using the bathroom, eating or smoking and before entering the fields for harvest activities or the packing facility for packing operations. GENERAL CONDITIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL CROPS: Field work begins at assigned time, which can vary from either before daylight or shortly after daylight, to afternoon start times. Work environment will be dirty, dusty, and damp, with temperature fluctuations according to the season. Work is performed during light rain and in high humidity and in temperatures ranging from 100+ degrees to below 35 degrees F. Workers must have multi-limb coordination ability while standing, walking, and climbing for long periods while pruning and harvesting. Workers will work on their feet in bent position for long periods of time. Workers will supply their own work clothes. Workers must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently throughout the day. Workers will make repetitive movements, extensive pushing, pulling, and walking. This is a very demanding and competitive business in which quality specifications must be rigorously adhered to. Sloppy work cannot and will not be tolerated. The employer retains the right to discharge an obviously unqualified worker, malingerer or recalcitrant worker who is physically able to but does not demonstrate the willingness to perform the work necessary for the employer to grow a premium quality product. During certain duties, workers may be required to work in teams to accomplish a certain task. When engaged in teamwork activities workers must coordinate with other members of the team to accomplish the task. Full Crop Commitment: This is regular work, 10 hours per day, Monday-Saturday for the full remainder of the period of employment. The worker agrees to work for assigned employer(s) whenever work is available during the full remaining period of employment even though work may be slack at times. The worker understands that if the worker quits or is terminated for cause prior to the end of the period of employment, the worker will not receive the 3/4 guarantees and will not receive certain transportation reimbursements. Excessive tardiness and/or absences will not be tolerated and will result in termination.
