Employees on farms, will perform general maintenance tasks including repair livestock buildings. Repair and/or install feed equipment, waterlines, gating, insulation, doors, ceilings, and roofs. Repair ventilation equipment. Framing, tin sheeting, and welding for buildings and equipment repairs and remodeling. Equipment Maintenance requires hand tools and all other necessary tools provided to change oil and do other equipment maintenance that can only be done in good weather conditions throughout the spring, summer and fall. Bait stations will be placed in order to keep mice from entering our buildings and causing damage or spreading diseases. Bait is placed every other week during contract period. Employees will also participate in the maintenance and repair, upkeep of farm and facility maintenance of livestock confinements. Feeding and caring for livestock when needed. Cleaning the livestock confinement and sanitizing the building. Mowing and weed eating outside the livestock confinement to keep clear pathways for vehicles and maintain worksite cleanliness. Employees will also be required to take part in lawn care which will require the use of lawn mower, rakes, branch cutter, and weed cutters. Employees may assist with all aspects of corn production. In the fall, harvest and preparation would start in late September and run through December. Grain hauling from remote locations continues after harvest through the winter months as we store it for later usage as feed. Employees will also participate in the spreading of manure to maintain farm soil quality. Manure is applied in the fall from late September through December when crops are removed, and the ground is not frozen. Laborers are responsible for preparing, maintaining, cleaning, and operating all machinery and equipment used for the handling of the manure. Truck transportation is needed for the handling of crop inputs and grain. Equipment operated may include ATV, pickup, semi-truck, tractor, seed tender or combine harvester. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs for 75 yards.
