Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; and plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to elevator or storage area. Equipment that workers will be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, back-hoes, mowers, and track-hoes. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Physical labor in the form of using hand tools, performing mechanical repair and maintenance on farm equipment, mowing, installing irrigation systems, maintaining irrigation systems, and removing irrigation piping will also be required. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer. Employees will perform custom combining crew duties only at the locations of the fixed-site growers listed in the itinerary. Custom combining duties will include operating combines, tractors with grain carts, and non CDL farm trucks to harvest crops. While performing custom combining duties workers will be required to perform repair, maintenance, and service on combining equipment when necessary. Workers will also be required to change cutting heads of combines when necessary. Workers may also be required to apply lime or chemicals using a self-propelled sprayer at the fixed-site growers' worksites.
