Workers will perform duties as instructed and assigned by their supervisor. Agricultural Equipment Operators: Workers will safely operate tractor and other farm vehicles as directed. Land Preparation and Maintenance: Land preparation consists of several job duties, farm equipment such as backhoe, tractor, tiller, excavator, etc. maybe required. Job duties include but are not limited to: Tilling, Laser leveling, Digging out and cleaning ditches/canals, Mowing harvesting beds/ditches/canal areas, Building walking areas, Herbicide applications/Salt amendments, Controlling and hand pulling weeds in harvesting beds, Hauling, Laying and repairing irrigation pipes. General Farm Labor: Hourly work may include different tasks of general farm labor such as: pulling weeds, cleaning ditches, scouting for insects, tractor spraying, repairing PVC irrigation lines, solid fertilization, regulating water, tractor bedding, burning, mowing, and scratching. Instructions in proper procedures for each of these jobs will be provided in training. Workers are responsible for following the recommendations of supervisors in performing these tasks. Equipment and tools: The following items will be provided to the employee as necessary to do work assigned - Smocks, Badge, Knee boots, Hip boots, Rubber gloves, Sleeves, Hair/beard nets. There will be no charge for items given to the employee the first time. Any worn out or damaged items must be returned to the farm manager, and they will be replaced at no charge to the employee (all replacements are limited). Any items lost or abused will be charged to the employee at the actual purchase cost to the company. Any items charged to the employee will be deducted from employees paycheck. The employer will provide a 14-day training period. At the end of the training period the worker must produce enough to earn the production standards identified in this application at the end of the subsequent payroll period. Job Location: The workers will work at a field that is located 17825 79th Street, Fellsmere, FL or 7798 County Road 512, Fellsmere, FL 32948. B & W Quality Growers owns 100% of the product packed, grown and harvested by B & W Quality Growers, LLC. It is estimated that 10% of the time will be spent packing, 35% growing and 65% harvesting the products. General Specifications and Physical Requirements of the Job: The majority of the workday is spent on one’s feet, constantly in movement, and outdoors. Workers are rarely in one place for any period of time. Workers must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, bend (from the waist), push, pull, reach, lift and carry items weighing in range from 5 to 50 pounds during the course of performing all required job specifications.
