Under SOC Code 45-2091.00, Agricultural Equipment Operators: Planting, cultivating, irrigating, and harvesting crops including potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and grains. Drive and operate farm equipment used in agricultural production such as tractors and combines. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, and drills to tractors and drive tractors in the field to till soil, plant, spray, and irrigate crops. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter, sprayer, or irrigation machinery. Operate, monitor, and maintain irrigation systems, including setting up and adjusting irrigation equipment to ensure proper water distribution. Inspect fields to determine irrigation needs and adjust flow rates accordingly. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and irrigation systems, and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Drive trucks to haul crops and seed from fields to storage buildings on the farm. Under SOC Code 45-2092.00, Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop: Record information about crops, such as pesticide use, yields, irrigation schedules, or costs. Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems, including laying pipes, moving irrigation lines, and adjusting sprinkler heads to ensure uniform water distribution. Monitor soil moisture levels and adjust irrigation schedules as needed. Workers injured on the job and unable to perform the full range of duties may be offered light duty, if available. Light duty tasks may vary depending on the availability of tasks, the nature of the worker's injury, and instructions from the worker's physician. Light duty tasks may include any combination of the following: Record information about crops, such as pesticide use, yields, irrigation logs, or costs. Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping.
