Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Food Preparation Worker: Duties may vary from time to time at the supervisors’ discretion and will be concurrent with other farmworker schedules. Workers will plan and coordinate menus to prepare food for 100+ farmworkers at on-farm kitchen facilities to be consumed by farmworkers under other H-2A job orders. Workers will prepare three meals a day in compliance with H-2A regulations and to ensure balanced nutrition for the farmworkers. Workers’ may be required to select, cut, slice, mince, defrost, wash, peel, blend, prepare, sauté, fry, broil, cook and serve a variety of foods including meats, vegetables or desserts. It may be required to handle hot and cold food, prepare tortillas manually or in the processor machine, and cook them. Workers will deliver prepared food to farmworkers at the farm fields or on-farm housing. Workers will clean, maintain and organize kitchen, appliances, monitor food temperatures to ensure food safety, cooking infrastructure (pots/pans/etc), Workers will coordinate food supply requests and receive food supply inventories area at all times. Workers will assist cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, silverware, refrigerators, equipment, kitchen and dining area at the end of the day and other times as needed. The employer will ensure that all food and supplies necessary to prepare the food at the on-farm kitchen facilities. Workers must maintain a clean vehicle to transport the prepared food to the farmworkers. Food Preparation Workers must have general knowledge and experience in Mexican traditional food preparation & equipment management due to safety reasons with sharp equipment, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Workers must possess a valid driver license, class C or equivalent, and must speak English and Spanish to be able to communicate with farm workers. Employees will coordinate and arrange food delivery times and farm locations with supervisors and field helpers. When food is delivered to the field, Cooks will hand out plates to workers one by one and then wait for them to finish eating and pick up the trash.
