I.S.A. Contracting Services, Inc. is a harvesting company providing labor to growers/operators for the harvesting of green tomatoes. Various duties and positions are covered by this clearance order and are listed below: Tomato Picker: I.S.A. Contracting Services, Inc. is a harvesting company providing labor to growers/operators for the harvesting of green tomatoes. The farm laborer must report to the field location to receive the daily work assignment from the field supervisor. The employee will be assigned two empty 20 liter buckets to perform the harvest. Then, he/she will harvest individual tomatoes by hand and place them into the bucket, once the bucket is filled with tomatoes, (the filled buckets will weigh approx. 25-lbs.), the employee will walk with both full buckets a distance up to 20 ft. to the nearby gondola and will hand over the full buckets one by one to the Dumper who will receive them and once emptied, the dumper returns the empty buckets back to the picker, the picker will walk back to the harvest area and resume picking tomatoes. The employee repeats this process throughout the workday and may pick up to 50 to150+ buckets of tomatoes during a typical workday. Tomato Puncher: I.S.A. Contracting Services, Inc. is a harvesting company providing labor to growers/operators for the harvesting of green tomatoes. The Field Assistant reports to the designated field location to receive daily work assignments from the Field Supervisor. This role requires the ability to read and write to complete daily field inspection logs for equipment, record and report any safety-related incidents, and assist with registering new workers. The Field Assistant supports the Field Supervisor with various duties, including providing daily cards to foremen, distributing buckets to workers, tracking trailer numbers and writing trailer tags, assisting with all H-2A worker responsibilities, ensuring compliance with COVID-related sanitation requirements, and passing out lunches to H-2A workers. Strong people skills are essential to help coordinate and enforce company policies and daily procedures. Additionally, the Field Assistant must understand quality control standards for fresh market tomatoes, including size, color, maturity, and shape. This position requires physical capability to climb 8-10 feet onto field equipment, trailers, or a metal dumping stand/platform approximately 4 feet off the ground, as well as the ability to receive, lift, and dump 25-pound buckets of tomatoes and occasionally carry two buckets (25-50 lbs.) throughout the workday. The Field Assistant must also be able to operate and drive field equipment proficiently, including maneuvering forward and backward with an attached tomato trailer. Responsibilities extend to assisting with pre-harvest maintenance and daily upkeep of all field equipment, participating in the initial setup before the season, and supporting field operations throughout. Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
