The primary duties for this position include routine preventive maintenance. Job duties will be consistent with 49-9071, Maintenance and Repair Workers. Perform regular inspections and routine maintenance on machinery and mechanical systems, including checking fluid levels, belts, motors, and filters to ensure optimal performance and prevent equipment failure. Troubleshooting and Repair: Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues across machinery, equipment, and systems. Utilize repair manuals, technical diagrams, and diagnostic tools to determine and implement solutions. Mechanical Repairs: Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to repair, replace, or adjust parts of machinery, equipment, or building systems, ensuring that all repairs are completed safely and efficiently. Parts and Supply: Order and maintain inventory of necessary parts, tools, and materials required for repairs and maintenance, ensuring timely availability of supplies. Equipment Dismantling: Disassemble faulty equipment to remove and replace defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and other equipment as needed. Lubrication and Cleaning: Perform routine lubrication and cleaning of machinery components, including gears, bearings, and shafts, to prevent wear and ensure smooth operation. Annual Maintenance Inspections: Conduct thorough annual inspections of industrial mechanical equipment, identifying signs of wear or potential issues, and performing necessary repairs or upgrades to maintain compliance with safety and operational standards. Scheduled Equipment Overhauls: Plan and execute scheduled overhauls and maintenance tasks for critical industrial machinery to extend service life and reduce the risk of unscheduled downtime. Documentation and Recordkeeping: Accurately record the type and cost of maintenance and repair work performed, keeping detailed logs of tasks, parts used, and time spent on repairs. Carrot packing facility is located on the farm, and Maintenance and Repair Workers will be employed by the farmer to maintain packing equipment during the specified season.
